Presidential Apprentice round 11 – Curiouser and curiouser
Well, that was quick and I could not have been more wrong. Two folks dropped out of the race and neither was Jim Gilmore.
1) Boss Hogg (i.e. Chris Christie)
2) The Wicked Witch of the West (i.e. Carly Fiorina)
Meanwhile, my man Jim Gilmore, despite coming in last, losing to 3 people not running, says “his plan is to be in South Carolina on Wednesday morning”1. You have to admire that kind of perseverance.
Republican Debate #2 – thoughts
On Obstructionism
One of my biggest frustrations with the Republican mentality is that pure obstructionism is somehow a reasonable way to govern. Getting rid of Obamacare is not the way to fix the state of healthcare in this country. That’s fine if you want to “repeal and replace” but dammit, you have to “replace” it with something. Simply going back to the previous status quo is NOT an acceptable answer. I am fine if you don’t agree with something, but you have to at least move the conversation forward.
